Digital Design & Content Support

Independent Contractor | Approx. 10-15 hours per week | Remote, Australia

Strategic Grants helps for-purpose organisations across Australia and New Zealand secure funding, build organisational sustainability and create lasting community impact. We’re a values-driven, fully remote organisation with a strong reputation in the sector.

We’re looking for an experienced freelancer, VA or digital support skilled with strong design skills to provide ongoing support across our marketing, communications and digital content. You might be a designer, but you don’t have to be. What matters is that you love working in Canva or other design programs, are great at improving PowerPoint presentations, and are confident working in WordPress.

This is an independent contractor engagement of approximately 10-15 hours per week, providing services under your own ABN.

Most of your work will be reactive, task-based support, with your workflow coming through Asana. You’ll work through assigned briefs and priorities independently, connecting directly with relevant team members when you need information or clarification. Getting priority work completed will come first. As time allows, we’d also love your creative input on how we can improve our visual assets, templates and design processes.

What you’ll help us with

· Creating polished, on-brand marketing and communications materials.

· Designing social media graphics, digital assets and collateral for conferences, workshops and training.

· Improving PowerPoint presentations, taking existing content and turning it into clear, engaging and professional presentations.

· Creating and adapting templates in Canva or other design software.

· Producing professional digital and print-ready materials.

· Working in WordPress to upload and format blogs, update content and make straightforward improvements to pages.

· Supporting webinars and other digital content where required.





· Managing your assigned workflow through Asana, keeping tasks moving, and meeting agreed delivery dates. Asana is part of Strategic Grants’ existing project management environment.

· Speaking directly with members of our team when you need information or clarification.

· As capacity allows, reviewing our existing visual assets and templates and suggesting opportunities to improve their quality, consistency and usability.

· Advising us on where AI and emerging tools could improve our design and content-production processes, while maintaining quality, professional judgement and brand consistency.

You could be a great fit if you...

· Have a great eye for design and genuinely enjoy making things look better.

· Are highly capable in Canva or similar design tools.

· Are very comfortable with PowerPoint and presentation design.

· Can confidently work in WordPress.

· Are comfortable receiving and managing your workflow through Asana, responding to briefs and changing priorities.

· Have excellent attention to detail.

· Are organised, responsive and comfortable managing several tasks at once.

· Can work independently but are happy to connect directly with team members when something needs clarifying.

· Enjoy finding smarter, more efficient ways of doing things.

· Are interested in how AI can improve design and content-production workflows.

· Have your own ABN and can invoice us for your services.

Experience with the for-purpose or not-for-profit sector would be an advantage.
