About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to join our team in Adelaide SA 5000 on a casual basis. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals in our aged and disability support services. As a Support Worker, you will be instrumental in helping clients maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life through practical assistance, emotional support and companionship.

Key responsibilities

- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing and toileting
- Provide support with meal preparation, shopping and household maintenance tasks
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, social activities and community events
- Offer emotional support and companionship, fostering meaningful relationships with clients
- Monitor and report on clients' health, wellbeing and any changes in their condition
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of support provided and client progress
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers and other team members
- Respect client confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries at all times
- Follow all relevant policies, procedures and safeguarding guidelines
- Support clients in pursuing their interests, hobbies and community participation

What we're looking for





- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people and commitment to person-centred care
- Experience working in aged care, disability support or a similar care environment (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients
- Patience, empathy and emotional resilience in challenging situations
- Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varied casual hours
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Physical capability to assist clients with mobility and personal care tasks
- A current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance or willingness to obtain one
- Vaccination status in accordance with relevant legislative requirements
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent record-keeping and attention to detail
- A non-judgmental approach and respect for client diversity and choice
