WorkPac are seeking an experienced Welder for a short-term FIFO opportunity within the mining and resources sector in Port Hedland, Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced Welder with previous industrial, fabrication or maintenance experience who is available for the full project duration.
Successful candidates must be available to commence on 16 November 2026 and successfully complete a pre-mobilisation weld test, along with all required pre-employment checks and site inductions.
About Our Client
Our client operates within the mining and resources sector, providing maintenance and operational support across major industrial sites in Western Australia. With a strong focus on safety, quality and operational excellence, they are seeking an experienced Welder to support welding, fabrication and maintenance activities on a major project.
What You Will Be Doing
- Carrying out welding and fabrication activities across the site
- Completing welding and maintenance tasks as required
- Performing welding duties within an industrial site environment
- Preparing materials and equipment for welding and fabrication activities
- Ensuring all welding work is completed to the required standards
- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and accuracy
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe work workplace
- Following all site safety procedures and requirements
- Working collaboratively with site personnel to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently
What You Will Need
- Previous welding experience within industrial, fabrication or maintenance environments
- Current Construction White Card
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-mobilisation weld test
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and LABDAS
- Ability to complete all required online site inductions
- Availability for the full project duration (16 November 1 December 2026)
- Ability to work nightshift on 12-hour shifts
- Ability to commence onboarding immediately
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Reliable, hardworking attitude and strong attention to detail
Highly Desirable
- Valid PHR Essential for Site and Lock Holder Aveling (Rio) completion certificates
- Current Telehandler ticket
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence/certificate
- Working at Heights accreditation completed within the last 3 years
- Current Forklift Licence and VOC
- Previous experience working within mining or heavy industrial environments
