About Our Client

Our client operates within the mining and resources sector, providing maintenance and operational support across major industrial sites in Western Australia. With a strong focus on safety, teamwork and operational excellence, they are seeking reliable and experienced Trade Assistants to support mechanical maintenance activities on a major project.

About the role

WorkPac are seeking experienced Trade Assistants for a short-term FIFO opportunity within the mining and resources sector in Port Hedland, Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous mechanical maintenance or Trade Assistant experience who are available for the full project duration.

Successful candidates must be available to commence on 16 November 2026 and be able to complete all required pre-employment checks and site inductions prior to mobilisation.

What You Will Be Doing

- Supporting mechanical tradespeople with maintenance activities
- Assisting with equipment handling and general mechanical maintenance duties
- Providing general trade assistance across the site
- Handling tools, materials and equipment as required
- Assisting with site preparation and maintenance activities
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe work workplace
- Following all site safety procedures and requirements
- Working collaboratively with tradespeople and site personnel to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently

What You Will Need

- Previous Trade Assistant or mechanical maintenance experience
- Current Construction White Card
- Current Australian Driver's Licence or valid Photo ID
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and LABDAS




- Valid PHR Essential for Site and Lock Holder Aveling (Rio) completion certificates
- Ability to complete all required online site inductions
- Availability for the full project duration (16 November 1 December 2026)
- Ability to work nightshift on 12-hour shifts
- Ability to commence onboarding immediately
- Reliable, hardworking attitude and strong commitment to workplace health and safety

Highly Desirable

- Current Telehandler ticket and VOC
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket
- Working at Heights accreditation completed within the last 3 years
- Current Forklift Licence and VOC
- Previous experience working within mining or industrial maintenance environments
