Join a highly regarded construction company with an established track record of delivering large and technically demanding building projects. Due to winning a significant project in the critical infrastructure space, an opportunity is available for an accomplished Project Director to lead the project from its key delivery stages through to completion.
This is a senior leadership position offering considerable responsibility across project delivery, people, commercial outcomes and stakeholder management.
Your new role
As Project Director, you will have overall responsibility for the performance and delivery of a major development. You will lead an experienced project team while providing strategic direction across design, procurement, construction, services coordination and project completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking overall accountability for project delivery and performance
- Leading and developing a large multidisciplinary project team
- Managing programme, financial, contractual and delivery requirements
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and project controls
- Providing oversight of design development, procurement and construction activities
- Working closely with consultants, subcontractors and other key stakeholders
- Identifying and managing project risks and resolving complex delivery issues
- Overseeing building services integration, testing, commissioning and handover
- Providing clear reporting and project updates to senior leadership
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced construction leader with a robust track record in the delivery of large-scale and technically complex building projects.
Ideally, you will possess:
- Qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or a relevant discipline
- Significant experience at Project Director, Construction Director or senior project leadership level
- A background delivering major critical building infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of building services and services-intensive construction environments
- Experience managing large project teams and multiple subcontractor packages
- Well-developed commercial and contractual management skills
- The ability to effectively manage senior stakeholders and competing project priorities
- Experience with commissioning and handover of complex facilities
- Previous experience working in live environments would be particularly valuable
