About the Role

WorkPac is seeking a reliable, motivated and hands-on Factory Hand to join an experienced manufacturing team based in Osborne Park.

In this role, you will assist with the manufacture and finishing of springs and other components, while developing practical skills across a range of manufacturing processes and workshop machinery. Duties will include operating and setting up automatic coiling machinery, measuring components, grinding, finishing and deburring manufactured products.

This position will suit someone with good mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Previous manufacturing or workshop experience is advantageous but not essential, with candidates new to the industry encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will receive structured on-the-job training and support from an allocated mentor during their initial weeks, working alongside a long-standing and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

- Learn and follow spring manufacturing processes, including operating and setting up the Carlson automatic coiler
- Measure components using verniers, callipers and other measuring equipment
- Perform grinding, finishing and deburring of manufactured components
- Learn to operate a manual lathe and other workshop machinery
- Complete basic measurements and calculations to ensure components meet specifications
- Progress into operating small ovens and furnaces as skills develop
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
- Participate in structured on-the-job training and work collaboratively with the team

What You Will Need

- Positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn new skills




- Good mechanical aptitude and a practical, hands-on approach
- Basic mathematics skills, ideally around a Year 10 level, including measurements and simple calculations
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Strong attention to detail
- Current driver's licence preferred
- Previous manufacturing or workshop experience highly regarded but not essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of an experienced team
- Own steel-capped boots
