NextOre is hiring a technical lead who sits between our science and our customers: Technical Sales and Customer Success, full time, based in Sydney, with travel to sites in Australia and overseas.
About NextOre
NextOre measures ore on the conveyor with magnetic resonance, a technology developed with CSIRO. Our analysers read the copper minerals in the whole ore stream in real time, so a mine can sort waste from ore before it reaches the mill. The technology is proven at operating copper mines in Chile and Zambia. NextOre is a part of MagnaTerra Technologies, and we are growing!
The mission
Sit with their metallurgists, geologists and planners, understand the ore and the flowsheet, design where and how sorting fits, and stay with them until it is delivering value. The sale follows when the solution is right.
You will work hand in hand with the CEO on new opportunities and commercial conversations, as the technical lead.
What you will do
- Turn a client's data into a desktop study: ore heterogeneity, sort ability and a sorting simulation that shows the value.
- Scope and run test work and site trials to turn the results into a business case the site believes.
- Design how sensing and sorting fit the mine plan and the flowsheet, with our engineers.
- Present to site and corporate teams: general managers, metallurgists, geologists, planners.
- Stay with the client through deployment and ramp-up, alongside our delivery team, until the value is proven.
- Build the methods, tools and training so this work does not depend on one person.
What you bring
- A degree in metallurgy, mineral processing, geology or mining engineering.
- Ten or more years in mining, much of it on site or close to operations.
- A practical feel for ore variability, grade control, reconciliation and processing.
- Comfort with data: strong in spreadsheets; Python or similar is a plus.
- Credibility with technical people, and you enjoy the commercial conversation as much as the technical one.
- Happy to travel to sites in Australia and overseas.
- A plus: sensor-based sorting or pre-concentration experience, copper or gold, Spanish or Portuguese.
