At Ausgrid, we're helping shape a smarter, more sustainable energy future, and this is your opportunity to play a key role in delivering the next generation of energy infrastructure. As a Project Manager, you'll lead the technical delivery of creative battery energy storage and network projects that will help support the future of our network and the communities we serve.
Working within our project delivery team, you'll be at the centre of technical decision-making, leveraging your engineering expertise to navigate design challenges, manage technical risks and drive complex issues through to resolution. You'll work closely with designers, engineers, technical specialists, equipment suppliers, procurement teams and commissioning partners to ensure solutions are practical, fit for purpose and successfully integrated into the Ausgrid network.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced engineer,
consultant or technical project leader looking to move into a broader client-side project environment. You'll have ownership of project outcomes from design through to commissioning, influencing key decisions and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes. If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, bringing people together and working with emerging technologies that support Australia's energy transition, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact.
What you bring to the role
Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, coupled with significant experience delivering technical or infrastructure projects within utilities, energy, power systems, renewable energy, battery storage or a related industry.
- Solid technical capability and the ability to understand complex engineering designs, equipment specifications, testing requirements and integration challenges.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, suppliers and technical experts to resolve issues, manage risks and keep projects progressing to key milestones.
- Demonstrated project leadership skills, including planning, procurement support, commissioning activities, stakeholder engagement and project governance.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to facilitate discussions, influence outcomes and drive accountability across diverse teams.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work autonomously while navigating complex technical and commercial environments.
- Experience with battery energy storage systems, power systems integration, commissioning, design consultancy or equipment suppliers will be highly regarded.
