Fulcrum3D develops advanced technologies for the renewable energy industry, spanning wind and solar measurement, meteorological monitoring, remote sensing, data acquisition, forecasting and analytics. Our technology is deployed across Australia and around the world, with a growing presence in East Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. We’re currently building the tallest wind monitoring mast in the Southern Hemisphere, a 210-metre IEC-compliant mast at our National Remote Sensing Validation Facility in northern Victoria.
We’re a company that runs on good ideas and fast execution, and we’re looking for someone to help grow our client base in Victoria.
About the role
You’ll look after our clients in Melbourne and Victoria, selling our full range of wind and solar measurement, monitoring and forecasting solutions to developers, asset owners, operators and EPC contractors. It’s a mix of winning recent business and growing existing accounts, working closely with our senior team on larger opportunities.
You’ll get around three months of hands-on training on our products, clients and sales approach. After that, the territory is yours to run. You’ll work mostly from home, with weekly client meetings in the Melbourne CBD and regular trips out to project sites.
What you’ll do
- Build a pipeline of new business across the renewable energy sector
- Grow long-term relationships with existing clients, not just chase the next sale
- Meet clients face to face each week and get out on site when needed
- Understand each client’s project and recommend the right mix of Fulcrum3D solutions
- Prepare proposals, quotes and presentations, with our engineers behind you on the technical detail
- Support the senior team on major accounts and tenders
- Bring back what you’re hearing in the market about competitors, projects and client needs
What we’re looking for
- Some experience in technical sales, business development, account management or a client-facing technical role
- A technical grounding of some kind. You might have done field, installation or commissioning work, have an engineering or science background, or have sold instrumentation, automation or IoT products. We’re more interested in what you can do than where you learnt it
- Renewables, meteorological or environmental monitoring experience is a bonus, not a must
- A real interest in the energy transition, and a personal reason for wanting to work in it
- Able to talk tech with engineers and plain English with everyone else
- Someone who builds rapport easily and can turn a tricky conversation around
- Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely, with a track record of setting your own goals and getting there
- Current driver’s licence and happy to travel to regional sites
Interested? Apply with your CV and a short note telling us what genuinely draws you to renewable energy and why you'd like to work in the industry.
