A permanent opportunity is now available for an experienced operational leader to join the team based at Brisbane Airport.

Your new role

Reporting to a senior operational leader, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable delivery of frontline operational services. Leading a team, you will create a positive, accountable and high-performing culture while balancing operational requirements, safety, people leadership and financial performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading, coaching and developing frontline operational employees
- Managing individual and team performance, including challenging performance and conduct matters
- Maintaining strong safety, risk, WHS and regulatory compliance
- Managing day-to-day operations and responding effectively to changing demands
- Supporting workforce planning, rostering and resource allocation
- Monitoring service performance and identifying emerging operational risks
- Managing budgets, overtime, leave and operational costs
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Driving continuous improvement across service delivery, productivity and team capability

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced and credible people leader with a strong background managing frontline teams in a complex operational setting.



Industry-specific experience is not essential. Candidates from rail, transport, infrastructure, utilities, emergency services, defence, logistics and other highly regulated or operations-intensive environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

You will ideally demonstrate:

- Significant experience leading frontline or operational teams
- Strong people leadership, coaching, mentoring and performance management capability
- Confidence in managing conflict and navigating difficult conversations
- Experience with workforce planning, rostering and resource management
- Strong safety, risk and compliance knowledge
- Sound judgement and decision-making in agile operational environments
- Experience managing budgets, costs and operational performance
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Tertiary qualifications in management, business or a technical discipline will be highly regarded.
- Flexibility to work an on-call roster
