Basin Sands Logistics (BSL) is seeking a reliable and hands-on Trades Assistant to join our maintenance team at our Ivanhoe mining operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and an interest in heavy vehicles, mobile plant and equipment maintenance.
The Role
Working alongside our qualified mechanics, you will assist with the maintenance and servicing of BSL's heavy vehicle fleet, trailers and mobile plant.
Key responsibilities include
- Assisting mechanics with servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Supporting workshop and field-based maintenance activities.
- Assisting with inspections, lubrication and routine servicing.
- Maintaining workshop cleanliness and equipment.
- Handling tools, parts and workshop materials.
- Undertaking general maintenance and labouring duties as required.
- Maintaining a robust focus on workplace health and safety.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous Trades Assistant, workshop or mechanical experience (desirable).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- A strong work ethic and reliable attitude.
- The ability to work independently and within a team.
- A commitment to safety and maintaining a professional work environment.
A mechanical trade qualification is not essential. Applicants with practical experience and a genuine interest in developing their mechanical skills are encouraged to apply.
A current driver's licence is essential.
