We are seeking a detail-oriented Scoping & Assessment Officer to join our team operating across Melbourne. This role is essential to our Electric Line Clearance (ESI) and vegetation management contracts for various government entities. You will be the primary field lead, identifying required tree works, assessing structural risks, and ensuring our field crews have the precise data needed for protected and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Assessment: Conduct visual inspections of trees managed by government entities to evaluate health, structure, and potential public risk.
- Work Scoping: Identify and document specific pruning or removal requirements in strict accordance with the Electric Line Clearance Management Plan (ECMP).
- Data Management: Utilise digital mapping and GIS inventory software to record species identification, precise locations, and work priorities for government reporting.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all scoped work adheres to government standards, ESI regulations, and AS4373-2007 (Pruning of Amenity Trees).
- Stakeholder Liaison:
Provide professional technical advice to government representatives and maintain positive interactions with the community regarding vegetation management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Arboriculture (AQF Level 5 is highly regarded for advanced assessments).
- ESI Level 2 (Current qualification or a strong willingness to obtain).
- Technical Proficiency: Proven ability to use tablets and GIS software for field data entry and asset tracking.
- Site Safety: Current Construction Induction (White Card) and a valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Experience with Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) or similar risk-rating methodologies.
