Thornton Engineering are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Painter to join their team in Corio VIC.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:- Surface preparation of steel for painting, safely using chemicals and a range of hand tools- Clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare fabricated steel items for application of paint and or other protective coatings.- Operate various equipment, such as blast pots and spray guns- Knowledge of various painting methods and applications- Sandblasting, abrasive and chemical techniques, masking and etching of applications.- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, sketches and drawings- Secure operation of tools and equipment- Grinding, sanding and polishing of steel- Understanding of painting,
caulking and sealing and putting them in to practice- Ability to apply all types of coatings using various application methods
Skills & Abilities:- Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or relevant- Ideally have 3 years’ experience within relevant or similar field- Ability to work in a team setting Salary range is $70,000-$95,000pa commensurate with experience
