Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Cook to join our team at GYG Burpengary. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced kitchen skilled to take ownership of food quality, support kitchen operations and help develop a high-performing team. As a Senior Cook, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring we consistently deliver exceptional food while maintaining high standards of food safety, efficiency and inventory management. What you'll be doing
• Food Quality: Lead by example, ensuring consistent food quality, preparation standards, portion control and food safety.
• Training & Development: Train, coach and support kitchen team members to build capability and maintain high standards.
• Inventory Management: Oversee stock counts, stock rotation, waste management and inventory accuracy.
• Ordering & Stock Control: Manage daily ordering, stock levels, supplier deliveries and order guides to ensure effective kitchen operations.
• Product Quality Management (PQM): Take ownership of food quality initiatives, stock variances, COGS performance, preparation planning and successful new product launches.

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of food safety, food quality and kitchen operations.
• Experience with inventory management, ordering and stock control.
• Ability to train, motivate and develop other team members.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
