Viiah Pty Ltd is a residential and commercial construction company based in Sydney, delivering recent builds, renovations and secondary dwelling projects. We’re looking for an experienced Painter to join our team on a permanent, full time basis.
About the role
The Painter will be responsible for preparing and painting surfaces across our residential and commercial construction projects, using a range of techniques, tools and equipment in office.
Key responsibilities
Preparing surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding and filling
Mixing and matching paints, stains and other coatings
Applying paint, stain and other finishes by brush, roller and spray equipment to interior and exterior surfaces
Erecting and working safely from ladders, scaffolding and elevated work platforms
Estimating quantities and costs of materials required for jobs
Selecting the type and grade of paint suited to each surface and substrate
Removing old paint using scrapers, heat guns or chemical solvents
Applying wallpaper and other wall coverings
Maintaining and cleaning tools, brushes and spray equipment
Complying with workplace health and safety and site induction requirements
What we’re looking for
Proven experience as a Painter in residential and/or commercial construction
Trade qualification in painting and decorating (or equivalent experience)
Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Sound knowledge of painting techniques, materials and safety practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a site team
Current driver’s licence
