Our client, a well-established Chartered Accounting (CA) firm based in Homebush , is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Taxation Assistant to join their growing team. This is an ideal opportunity for an accounting graduate or junior accountant looking to gain hands-on experience and mentorship in tax and business services within a reputable public practice environment.
About the Role:
You’ll work directly with experienced accountants and partners to support tax compliance and general accounting functions. The role offers exposure to a wide range of entities including individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships — perfect for someone looking to build a long-term career in public practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation and assistance with tax returns, BAS/IAS, and financial statements
General ledger maintenance, data entry, and bank reconciliations
ATO correspondence and handling basic client queries
Supporting senior staff with tax planning, compliance, and reporting




Ad hoc administrative support as required

Ideal Candidate:
Degree qualified or currently studying Accounting
0–2 years’ experience in a public practice or tax workplace
Experience with MYOB, Xero, or HandiTax highly regarded
Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and good time management
Explicit and qualified communication skills
