St Pius X College, Chatswood is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and innovative Visual Arts Teacher for a temporary full time position for Terms 1 and ******. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who has the ability to inspire students to achieve personal excellence.

The successful applicant will:

Be characterised by a high standard of competency, professionalism, organisational proficiency and enthusiasm
Have an ability to relate to boys and a practical knowledge of boys' education issues and initiatives
Participate in the Pastoral Program for the well-being of all students at the College
Have the willingness and capacity to teach Stage 3 Visual Arts
Demonstrate ability to create a positive, inclusive and well managed classroom environment that supports creativity, experimentation and safe studio practice
Have strong organisational skills,



particularly in managing specialist spaces such as darkrooms, photography and film spaces and photographic equipment
Have the capacity to support students in major works, including conceptual development, documentation, and technical refinement
Have strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a Visual Arts faculty and broader school community
Be a reflective practitioner who engages in ongoing professional learning in contemporary art, media, and digital technologies
Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in both teaching and student wellbeing
Be an innovative and engaging classroom practitioner
Effectively integrate technology in teaching and learning
Preferably have experience teaching photography, film and digital programs such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Indesign
Differentiate the curriculum to suit the student needs
Willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning
Have the ability to maintain high standards for students, colleagues and the College.
