Border Tiles is seeking an experiencedWall & Floor Tilerto join our team on afull-time basisat our Albury, NSW location.
This is a hands‐on role where you'll be responsible for installing and finishing wall and floor tiles in residential and commercial projects.
As a skilled tradesperson, you'll play a crucial part in delivering high‐quality finishes that meet our clients' expectations and contribute to the reputation of Border Tiles as a leading provider of tiling solutions in the region.
Key responsibilities
Measuring, cutting and installing ceramic, porcelain and stone tiles on walls and floors according to design specifications
Preparing surfaces by cleaning, levelling and applying appropriate adhesives and grout
Ensuring tiles are laid to the correct gradient, particularly for wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens
Grouting tiles and applying sealants to ensure durability and water resistance
Reading and interpreting plans and specifications to determine layout and design requirements
Maintaining a safe and clean work site, adhering to all health and safety regulations
Using hand tools and power tools effectively and safely
Communicating with project managers and clients to ensure work meets requirements and timelines
Collaborating with other tradespeople on construction sites
What we're looking for
A recognised tiling apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications and substantial experience as a Wall & Floor Tiler
Proficiency in working with a range of tile materials including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and glass
Strong knowledge of adhesives, grouts, waterproofing and sealant systems
Accuracy and attention to detail, with an understanding of proper tile alignment and pattern layouts
Physical fitness and the ability to work in various positions, including standing and kneeling for extended periods
Competence with hand tools and power tools specific to tiling work
A current First Aid Certificate and relevant safety qualifications
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred: experience in both residential and commercial projects, and familiarity with specialist tiling such as pool areas or wet rooms
