Operating across the local construction industry, the company undertakes carpentry and associated building activities requiring accurate workmanship and safe construction practices.
The successful applicant will assist with structural carpentry, installations, renovations and repairs while ensuring work meets project specifications and quality standards.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: • Interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications to determine carpentry requirements, dimensions and installation methods.
• Measure, mark, cut and shape timber, plywood and other building materials to required specifications.
• Construct and erect timber frameworks, wall frames, roof structures and supporting building components.
• Install door frames, window frames, skirting boards, architraves and other internal timber fittings.
• Assemble and install prefabricated timber components, panels and structural fittings on construction sites.
• Lay subflooring, floorboards and associated timber flooring components, ensuring accurate alignment and secure installation.
• Install external wall cladding, fascia boards, roof sheathing and related structural building materials.
• Construct and assemble timber formwork for concrete foundations, slabs and other structural elements.
• Perform renovation, maintenance and repair work on existing timber structures, fixtures and fittings.
• Select appropriate materials,



tools and equipment according to construction plans and project requirements.
• Check completed carpentry installations for structural alignment, accuracy, stability and compliance with specifications.
• Operate hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment safely and effectively during construction activities.
• Coordinate carpentry activities with builders, supervisors and other tradespeople to maintain project schedules.
• Maintain clean and organised work areas while following workplace health and safety procedures.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: • A minimum of 12 months' recent, directly relevant work experience as a Carpenter undertaking residential or commercial construction activities.
• An AQF Certificate III or IV in Carpentry, or at least three years' relevant experience in lieu of qualifications.
• Ability to interpret building plans, technical drawings and specifications to complete carpentry work accurately and independently on site.
• Practical experience constructing timber frameworks, installing structural components and fitting doors, windows and other building fixtures.
• Competence in measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber and associated construction materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of Australian building standards, construction methods and workplace health and safety requirements relevant to carpentry operations.
• Ability to undertake carpentry repairs, renovations and installations while maintaining workmanship standards and meeting project deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate construction activities and follow site supervisor instructions.
