We are looking for motivated individuals who are currently completing their 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of a Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship, or who have completed a relevant pre-apprenticeship qualification, to join our team as a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice, commencing in January 2027.

About the role

As a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice with Otis, you will gain practical, on-the-job experience while developing the technical skills required to build a long-term career in the lift and escalator industry.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will:

- Learn about the Installation, Modernisation, Servicing, Maintenance and Repair of lifts, Escalators and Travelators.

- Work alongside experienced technicians and tradespeople who will support your development.

- Develop practical mechanical skills, including fault finding, equipment maintenance, repair and installation.

- Gain exposure to different areas of our business, including Service and Construction.

- Learn how to work safely within a highly technical and safety-focused environment.

- Work with customers and develop robust communication and customer service skills.

- Build valuable industry knowledge and experience while working towards your trade qualification.

What you will need

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally:

- Be currently completing a Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship, preferably in your 1st, 2nd or 3rd year, or have completed a relevant pre-apprenticeship qualification.

- Have completed a minimum of Year 10 or equivalent.

- Have full working rights in Australia.

- Have a genuine interest in mechanical systems, equipment and hands-on technical work.

- Be safety-conscious and willing to learn.

- Be reliable, motivated and comfortable working as part of a team.

- Have good communication and customer service skills.

- Be interested in developing a long-term career within the lift and escalator industry.

Previous experience in the lift industry or another mechanical, industrial or trades environment is advantageous, but not essential. Build what’s next with Otis
