About the role

You will create a welcoming, well-maintained village where residents feel heard, respected and connected. From answering resident enquiries to managing budgets and coordinating maintenance, everything you do will make a real and visible difference to village life.

Here’s how you will make an impact:

- Build warm, lasting relationships with residents, responding to enquiries and resolving concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Lead, support and inspire village employees, helping them grow through regular communication, training and constructive performance conversations.
- Help prepare and present the village operating budget, managing expenditure within agreed limits with the backing of your colleagues.
- Keep village units, facilities and common areas in great shape through coordinated maintenance, including preventive maintenance programs.
- Partner with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to deliver reliable, cost-effective services.
- Bring the community together by supporting resident meetings, activities, social events and emergency evacuation exercises.
- Together with the village team,



create exciting and innovative activities and outings for residents in order to promote healthy village life and culture.
- Maintain a visible presence in the dining room during peak periods, functions and special events to support resident engagement and service delivery
- Support timely identification and resolution of village operational risks, including food safety matters where relevant.
- Keep accurate records, prepare reports and support compliance with Goodwin policies and relevant requirements.
- Champion workplace safety, security, privacy and continuous improvement.

About you

You are an approachable, organised leader who brings out the best in people while keeping a village running smoothly. You listen carefully, communicate clearly and handle sensitive conversations with sound judgement and a caring approach.

You will bring:

- Previous management experience in a service-focused environment.
- A genuine understanding of older people’s needs and a commitment to respectful, resident-focused service.
- Experience leading, training and developing employees – and a passion for helping them succeed.
- Robust interpersonal, conflict resolution and time management skills.
- Office administration experience and confident computer skills.
- An understanding of budgets, end-of-month reports and financial reporting.
- Experience managing work health and safety systems.
- A proactive, positive approach to problem-solving, quality and service improvement.

Experience in retirement living, property management, hospitality or facilities management will be highly regarded, as will relevant qualifications and knowledge of retirement village legislation.
