Job Prospect: Italian-Speaking Disability Support Worker (DSW)

We are currently seeking an experienced, compassionate and reliable Italian-speaking Disability Support Worker to provide personalised care and support to a male participant living with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and bilateral lower limb amputations. The participant uses a manual wheelchair for all mobility.

Key Requirements

- Italian-speaking support worker with good English communication skills.

- Previous experience supporting participants with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI).

- Experience in mental health support and managing behaviours of concern.

- Strong manual handling skills, including experience with slide board transfers.

- Patient, understanding and confident in building rapport with participants.

- Ability to promote independence while maintaining participant safety and dignity.





- A valid driver's licence and access to a standard-height vehicle suitable for slide board transfers are preferred.

- Please note: 4WDs and high SUVs are not suitable for participant transport.

Shift Requirements

- Potential hours: Up to 24/7 support.

- Initial shifts: Approximately 5-6 hours each morning, between 7:00 AM and 1:30 PM.

- Shift progression: The participant prefers to build familiarity and trust with support workers through shorter shifts initially, with the opportunity to gradually increase shift lengths over time.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, reliable and confident in managing behaviours of concern while building a positive and trusting relationship with the participant.
