Heavy Industrial Services is a growing steel fabrication business based in Port Kembla. We work across heavy fabrication, mining and construction and are looking for a skilled Boilermaker / Welder / Fitter Welder to join our team.
Based in the Wollongong area, you get the benefit of working close to the coast, beaches and everything the Illawarra has to offer, without having to head away for long stretches of work.
About the Role
You’ll be involved in a variety of workshop and occasional site-based work, including:
- Heavy fabrication involving plate work, pipework and structural steel
- MIG, Stick and TIG welding
- Interpreting drawings and design specifications
- Setting up components for welding
- Grinding and finishing components to a high standard
- Maintenance and repair of basic underground equipment
- Occasional onsite work and maintenance support
Skills & Experience
- Trade-qualified Welder / Boilermaker (3rd Year Apprentices welcome to apply)
- Strong MIG welding skills
- Fitting experience preferred
- Ability to interpret fabrication drawings
- Able to pass a weld test
- Driver’s Licence and Forklift Licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High standard of workmanship and commitment to safety
- Must provide and maintain your own basic hand tools

Pay Rates
- Casual: $48–$53 per hour + super
- Full-Time: $42–$47 per hour + super
