About Us

Larvotto Resources is an Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) listed company developing the world-class Hillgrove Mine, gold and antimony project in NSW, while actively exploring for copper and gold near Mt Isa in Queensland, Lithium REE and base metals in Western Australia and epithermal gold in New Zealand.

At Hillgrove Mine in regional NSW, engineering decisions have a direct impact on what happens underground. We’re looking for a Senior Ventilation & Projects Engineer who enjoys solving operational challenges, improving mine infrastructure and seeing projects delivered—not just designed.

Relocation Assistance will be offered for the preferred candidate.

About the Role

Reporting into the Superintendent, Mine Technical the Drill & Blast Engineer will be responsible for completion of drill and blast design, QAQC, reconciliations and general mining engineering support to the Mining team.

You will have the ability to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels; while having strong Underground mining experience with a practical understanding of underground drainage, power, air, water, ventilation and backfill techniques.

Key Responsibilities will include:

- Plan, model and optimise primary and auxiliary ventilation systems to support current production and future mine development,
- Use ventilation surveys, inspections and monitoring data to identify constraints and recommend practical improvements.
- Help manage ventilation risks, including diesel emissions, airborne contaminants, heat and blasting fumes.
- Work with Mine Planning and operational teams to build ventilation requirements into development sequences, equipment decisions and mining activities.

- Own assigned engineering projects from scoping and evaluation through design, procurement, implementation, commissioning and close-out.
- Prepare project scopes, estimates and schedules, and coordinate suppliers and contractors to deliver work safely and effectively.
- Find opportunities to improve ventilation efficiency, infrastructure reliability, production performance and operating costs.
- Keep ventilation plans, technical records, reports and risk assessments current, supporting audits, investigations and compliance requirements.
- Provide clear, practical engineering advice to site leaders and collaborate across teams to resolve operational challenges.

About You

- You’re as comfortable working through a technical problem as you are engaging with the people who need to put the solution into practice.
- You bring sound judgement, a strong safety focus and the confidence to raise risks and recommend better ways of working.
- You can manage project priorities, budgets and contractors while staying responsive to the realities of an operating underground mine.
- You take ownership, communicate clearly and enjoy seeing engineering improvements make a tangible difference on site.

Other Requirements

- A degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- At least five years’ relevant underground mining or mine engineering experience,

with responsibility for technical outcomes.
- Hands-on experience in underground ventilation modelling, surveying, system design and ventilation controls, including Ventsim or equivalent software.
- A track record of scoping, planning and delivering mine-site engineering, infrastructure or operational improvement projects.
- Sound knowledge of underground mining methods, ventilation hazards, risk assessment and applicable mine health and safety requirements.
- The ability to translate technical information into practical recommendations and work effectively with operations, contractors and other stakeholders.
- A current manual driver’s licence. Exposure to Deswik, 4WD/off-road driving and Senior First Aid/CPR qualifications will be well regarded.
