About Us

Bright Start Preschool is a small, family-owned, 39-place preschool in Bateau Bay, catering for children aged 2–5 years. We operate 50 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday, from 8.00am to 4.00pm.

We value each child as an individual and an active participant in their learning and development. Relationships, play, community connections and the environment are central to our approach.

Bush Kindy and community programs reflect our commitment to nature-based learning, environmental awareness, sustainability and connections beyond the preschool gates.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Criteria

- A genuine interest in early childhood education, play and children’s learning and development.

- Interact warmly and respectfully with children and support their learning and development through play-based experiences nature based, community & educational programs under the guidance of qualified educators

- Complete required traineeship coursework and practical learning and seek feedback to develop your skills

- Support an inclusive learning environment where children feel secure, valued and heard

- A current Working with Children Check clearance, or willingness to obtain one before commencement.

- Willingness to complete required child protection, child safety and other role-related training.

- Commitment to following Child Safe Setting Policy, Code of Conduct and relevant policies and procedures.

Appointment is subject to completion and verification of required pre-employment screening, including identity verification, Working with Children Check and relevant background, criminal history and regulatory suitability checks. All required clearances must be confirmed before commencement.
