Work on the equipment that keeps major construction projects moving.

About Lantrak

For more than 65 years, Lantrak has delivered materials management, transport and plant hire solutions to Australia's civil and commercial construction industries.

As an established Australian-owned business, we operate across major infrastructure and construction projects, supported by an extensive fleet of heavy vehicles, earthmoving machinery and specialised plant.

We're looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our Fleet team.

The Opportunity

This isn't a role where you'll be working on the same equipment every day.

You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of earthmoving machinery, heavy vehicles, light vehicles and ancillary equipment, with a mix of workshop-based maintenance and field service across our operational sites.

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you'll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise, solve challenging mechanical problems and play a direct role in keeping our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

We're looking for a capable, hands-on mechanic who takes ownership of their work, knows their way around heavy machinery and enjoys being part of a practical, hardworking team.

What You'll Be Doing

- Service, maintain and repair earthmoving equipment, heavy vehicles and associated plant.

- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission faults.

- Attend site breakdowns and carry out field repairs to minimise downtime.

- Complete preventative maintenance, inspections and equipment preparation.

- Work closely with the Fleet and Operations teams to maintain equipment reliability and availability.

What We're Looking For

- Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Mobile Plant or equivalent.

- Demonstrated experience maintaining heavy diesel equipment, preferably earthmoving machinery.

- Solid fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and hydraulic systems.

- Ability to work independently across workshop and field service environments.

- A practical, reliable attitude with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Experience across both heavy vehicles and earthmoving equipment will be highly regarded.

Why Join Lantrak?

- $50 + per hour + superannuation.

- Diverse fleet — work across trucks, earthmoving machinery and specialised plant.

- Variety in your work — a combination of workshop maintenance, field servicing and breakdown repairs.

- Established business — join an Australian-owned company with more than 65 years in the industry.

- Hands-on environment — work alongside an experienced Fleet team supporting major construction and infrastructure projects.

If you're an experienced Diesel Mechanic looking for variety, responsibility and the opportunity to work across a substantial fleet, we want to hear from you.
