Are you an accountant who enjoys a mix of strategy and hands-on work, and wants to run the numbers properly rather than just report them? A well-established manufacturer on the Sunshine Coast needs a Financial Controller to lead its finance and administration team and act as a true business partner to the commercial and operational sides of the business.
The Role
Reporting to the leadership team and owning everything from the month-end close and costing through to systems, compliance and team development. It suits someone who enjoys variety and can work autonomously.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing accurate, timely monthly and annual reporting, including budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
- Building and maintaining standard costing models and analysing product profitability
- Leading the implementation of a company-wide ERP system and tightening internal controls and processes
- Overseeing payroll, AP, AR, credit management and statutory reporting including BAS
- Supporting HR matters,
coordinating stock and asset control, and leading and developing the finance team
About You
You’re organised, detail-focused and happy to roll your sleeves up. Here’s what you’ll bring to the role:
- Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Strong financial and management accounting experience in a manufacturing workplace
- Advanced Excel skills and a sharp analytical mindset
- Experience implementing or improving finance systems and driving change
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while supporting a team
- NetSuite ERP, cost accounting, inventory and product costing experience highly regarded
