A global ASX-listed group is looking for a Senior Tax Advisor to join its Group Tax team in Brisbane. Reporting to the Group Tax Manager, you’ll support tax affairs across 20+ jurisdictions.
This is a group-level role, so you’ll see tax from a global perspective: review and sign-off of compliance prepared by regional teams, tax risk and advisory and the commercial context behind new business initiatives. Few in-house roles offer this scope across ANZ, Asia, North America and Europe.
The role
- Review and approve tax compliance prepared by regional teams and offshore support, with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide timely, practical tax advice to Group and Regional Finance teams, helping identify and manage tax risk
- Support the preparation and coordination of global income tax returns, payments, tax accounting and financial reporting tax disclosures
- Apply OECD transfer pricing principles and Australian income tax legislation to group matters
- Work with a tech-driven tax function that builds its own internal tools and is actively adopting new technology and AI
- Build deep knowledge of the group’s tax framework and workbooks,
as part of a deliberate focus on knowledge continuity
- Look for opportunities to simplify processes and improve efficiency
About you
- 4+ years’ experience in a Big 4 or large CA firm or in the internal tax function of a large business
- CA/CPA qualification or relevant higher education
- Experience with income tax returns, tax accounting and financial reporting tax disclosures
- Knowledge of income tax legislation and OECD transfer pricing principles
- Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills, with a commercial, solutions-focused mindset
- Comfortable in a review and approval role rather than hands-on preparation
- Strong communication and prioritisation skills and an interest in technology and process improvement
Why this role?
- Global exposure in a large, listed in-house environment
- Flexible hybrid working, with real flexibility to fit around your life
- Strong learning and development support and a range of lifestyle and wellbeing benefits
- Market-competitive salary offering plus up to 15% STI
