Established in 2005, HME Earthmoving has built a strong reputation for providing superior equipment and services to the mining, quarrying and construction industries.

We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable and motivated Crushing & Screening Operator to join our growing team.

HME operates Finlay and McCloskey crushing and screening equipment and is looking for someone with extensive hands-on industry experience who takes pride in their work, has a strong work ethic and understands the importance of maintaining safe, efficient and productive site operations.

We are looking for a multi-skilled operator with experience across crushing and screening operations and mobile plant. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience will be highly regarded.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your responsibilities will include:

- Operating and monitoring Finlay and McCloskey crushing and screening plants.

- Operating a range of mobile plant and machinery across site operations.

- Operating CAT 980/982 wheel loaders and CAT and/or Hitachi excavators.

- Setting up, adjusting and overseeing equipment to achieve production requirements.

- Monitoring material flow, product quality and overall plant performance.

- Conducting pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks.

- Identifying mechanical issues, troubleshooting faults and reporting maintenance requirements.

- Carrying out general plant maintenance and housekeeping as required.

- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

- Working collaboratively with other operators, labourers and site personnel to achieve daily production targets.

- Managing workflow and coordinating other team members where required.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The successful applicant will ideally have:





- Demonstrated experience operating crushing and screening equipment.

- Experience with Finlay and/or McCloskey machinery (highly regarded).

- Multi-skilled plant operation experience, including CAT 980/982 wheel loaders.

- Proven experience operating CAT and/or Hitachi excavators.

- A sound understanding of crushing and screening processes and production requirements.

- The ability to identify operational issues and troubleshoot equipment.

- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- A proactive attitude with good communication and problem-solving skills.

- Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to get in and get the job done.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE HIGHLY REGARDED:

- Previous supervisory or leading-hand experience.

- Experience overseeing a crushing and screening crew.

- Ability to coordinate daily operations, delegate tasks and maintain production targets.

- Light truck operation experience.

- Skid steer operation experience.

- Relevant machinery tickets, licences and qualifications.

Local applicants from the Rockhampton and surrounding regions are strongly preferred.
