About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager your key responsibilities are:

- Process accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank, credit card and balance sheet accounts.

- Prepare month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules.

- Help prepare management reports and annual financial statements.

- Prepare BAS, and payroll tax lodgements, and assist with income tax returns.

- Maintain the fixed asset register.

- Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

- Assist with year-end audits by preparing workpapers and answering auditor queries.

- Keep records accurate in Xero and MYOB - Acumatica and suggest process improvements.

- Help with ad hoc projects and client or stakeholder queries as needed.

Essential Criteria

- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business (completed or finishing this year), meeting CA ANZ or CPA Australia entry requirements.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping and GST.

- Intermediate Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and basic formulas.

- High attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.

- Explicit written and verbal communication.

- Ability to manage your time and meet deadlines.

- Full working rights in Australia.

- Working with Children Check

- National Police Check

Desirable Criteria

- Familiarity with Xero, MYOB or another accounting system.

- Intention to start the CA or CPA Program within your first year.
