Chapman-Davies Optometry is seeking a Casual Optical Assistant/Receptionist to join our friendly team in Lakemba, NSW.This is a 1-3 day casual position offering flexibility whilst providing essential support to our optometry practice.
You will be the first point of contact for our patients, delivering exceptional customer service whilst assisting our optical professionals in delivering high quality eye care services.
This role is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of our clinic and ensuring patients have a positive experience from arrival to departure.What you'll be doingGreeting and welcoming patients with warmth and professionalism, making them feel valued from the moment they arriveManaging reception duties including scheduling appointments, answering telephone enquiries and handling patient administrative tasksProcessing patient payments and handling cash or card transactions with accuracyAssisting optical professionals by triaging and preparing patients for eye testsHelping patients select and try on glasses frames and contact lenses in a consultative mannerMaintaining accurate patient records and ensuring all documentation is completed correctly and stored securely in compliance with privacy regulations.Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the practice, including the reception area.Providing information about optical products, services and lens options to help patients make informed decisionsProcessing lens orders and managing inventory of frames and optical productsSupporting the team with general administrative tasks to ensure productive clinic operationsWhat we're looking forPrevious experience in a customer facing role, ideally within healthcare, optical or retail environmentsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse patientsExcellent organisational abilities and attention to detail,
