We provide biomedical engineering, medical-device distribution, OEM field service and lifecycle support to hospitals and medical technology partners.Our portfolio spans ventilation, ECMO, defibrillators, medical power solutions and medical-grade IT.
We are a small, close-knit team, so the person in this role will work directly with operations, logistics, field service and sales colleagues every day.About the roleWe are looking for an Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting and reporting for a growing business that sells equipment, delivers field service and imports product from overseas manufacturers.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will keep our records accurate, close the books each month and make sure what we quote, deliver, ship and invoice all reconcile.Our business runs on Xero and the Zoho suite (CRM, Inventory, Books and Field Service Management).
Prior Zoho experience is helpful but not mandatory; we may train the right person on our systems.Key responsibilitiesArranging accounting entries for company debtors and creditors, compliance-based auditing, producing accounting information and record keepingAssisting in examining operating costs and organisations' income and expenditureAssisting in the preparation of management reports including financial statements, cash flow statements and operational budgets.Examining and analysing the financial information in the profit and loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and working capital reportReviewing and reconciling business bank statements, inter-company transactions,



and actual budget against the year's expected budget.Handling daily, monthly, and yearly closings and preparing monthly and yearly reportsReconcile supplier, freight, courier and customs invoices against purchase orders, shipment records and agreed charges.Posting monthly journals for payroll cost, employee superannuation and PAYG withholding tax, salary sacrifice, commissions, and employee termination paymentPreparing trial balance, evaluating all asset, liability, expense and income general ledger accounts.
Proving variance analysis and providing commentary on financial figuresReconcile supplier balances and coordinate resolution of payment discrepancies.Calculating the year-end tax liability preparing for the company's income tax returnWorking directly with external Accountants, reviewing, timely lodging, and payment of regulatory and taxation needs such as BAS, payroll tax, Superannuation.Creating and maintaining accounting systems, as well as advising on the selection and use of computer-based accounting systemsEnsuring internal financial control is maintained.
.Essential requirementsBachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related discipline.At least 1 year experience in an accounting role.Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations and month-end accounts.Demonstrated financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring and management reporting.Experience working with integrated business systems that link CRM, inventory/warehouse, Books and field service (for example Zoho or an equivalent), and with a cloud accounting system such as Xero.Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyse financial data.Current Australian work rights.Benefits:Maternity leaveParental leaveSalary packagingTravel reimbursementWork from homeWork Location: In person
