Senior Quantity SurveyorPlympton, Devon | PermanentA senior commercial role with the opportunity to make a real impactWe're working with a well-established regional contractor that has secured a strong pipeline of work within the water utilities sector and is looking to strengthen its commercial team with the appointment of an experiencedSenior Quantity Surveyor.Based from their Plympton office, you'll be joining a friendly, supportive team with an excellent commercial manager who believes in giving people the autonomy to do their job while providing support whenever it's needed.This is an opportunity to take ownership of the commercial delivery of projects on an established water utilities framework, while also helping to support and develop two Assistant Quantity Surveyors.The RoleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take a leading role in managing the commercial performance of projects operating under the NEC4 form of contract.You'll have responsibility for the day-to-day commercial management of framework schemes, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and in accordance with contractual requirements.You'll also provide guidance and support to two Assistant Quantity Surveyors, helping them develop their commercial knowledge and experience.Key responsibilities include:Commercial management and administration of NEC4 contractsCost reporting, forecasting and monitoring project profitabilityManaging compensation events,



variations and change controlSubcontract procurement, payments and account managementPreparing valuations, applications for payment and final accountsWorking closely with operational teams to maximise commercial performanceEnsuring contractual compliance and effective risk managementSupporting and mentoring two Assistant Quantity SurveyorsOverseeing the commercial delivery of multiple framework schemes where requiredWhat We're Looking ForProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructureStrong working knowledge of NEC contracts, ideally NEC4Previous experience within water infrastructure or utilities would be particularly advantageousExcellent commercial awareness and contract management skillsThe ability to manage your own workload while supporting junior colleaguesA collaborative approach and the confidence to work closely with operational and commercial teamsWhat's On Offer?
