ABOUT THE ROLE
Based in our Wollongong Office and reporting to the Senior Manager Supply, you will provide strategic and commercial leadership for GM³'s Category Management function. You will be accountable for developing and executing sourcing strategies that optimise Total Cost of Ownership, minimise supply risk and support operational requirements. Working closely with Operations and Supply teams, you will lead sourcing initiatives, oversee high-value commercial negotiations and drive sustainable value across the business.
Key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Lead the development and delivery of the GM³ Sourcing Strategy.
- Establish and maintain category management frameworks and methodologies.
- Direct and prioritise category management resources and sourcing projects.
- Lead high-value and high-risk sourcing initiatives, negotiations and contract formation activities.
- Build strong partnerships with Operations and site-based Supply teams.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
- Coach and develop team capability across sourcing, negotiations and commercial analytics.
- Drive continuous improvement across Supply processes, systems and practices.
- Provide risk assurance and ensure compliance with commercial policies and frameworks.
- Support local procurement planning and business-wide sourcing initiatives.
- Identify and manage commercial and supply chain risks.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in commercial, supply or mining and metals environments.
- Demonstrated experience developing sourcing strategies and delivering commercial value.
- Proven success leading high-value strategic negotiations and contract formation activities.
- Strong category management and strategic sourcing expertise.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Solid commercial acumen and risk management capability.
- A collaborative leadership style and commitment to safety, integrity and operational excellence.
