About the Role:
We are seeking a Maintenance Officer to join our team on a part-time basis!
Shift Times: 7:00am - 1:30pm (Monday to Friday)
You will be based at our Turramurra House, located at 34 Curagul Road Turramurra NSW 2074.
Turramurra House is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our team in a warm, resident-focused aged care environment. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe and well-presented facilities, and understands the importance of a well-maintained environment in supporting the quality of life of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance throughout the facility such as repairs, painting, lighting replacement, gutter cleaning and basic plumbing
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and minimise disruption to residents
- Maintain gardens, grounds and outdoor areas to a high standard.
- Follow preventative maintenance programs to ensure timely upkeep of buildings and outdoor areas
- Identify, report, and address hazards in line with work health and safety procedures
- Obtain quotes for repairs or maintenance works as directed by the House Manager
- Provide friendly,
professional service to residents, visitors, contractors, and staff
- Build positive relationships with residents through a respectful, approachable, and supportive manner
About You:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience completing maintenance for commercial businesses (desirable)
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Officer in Aged Care (preferrable)
- Trade certificate or equivalent qualification (preferrable)
- Current Driver’s License Class C;
- Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety Requirements
- Possess positive communication and organisational skills.
- Be able to work proactively to identify maintenance problems, including regularly inspecting and assessing repair work; and
- Have the ability to recognise, escalate and resolve maintenance matters which require further assistance.
