About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and hands-on Events/ Functions Co-ordinator to join the Headlands Hotel team.

This is a customer-facing, floor-based operational role where you will play a key part in co-ordinating and delivering functions, events and celebrations at the venue. You will be the point of contact for customers throughout their event, while working closely with the venue team to ensure everything runs smoothly from set-up through to pack-down.

The role will involve co-ordinating a range of functions and events including weddings, birthdays, corporate functions, celebrations and seasonal events such as Australia Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Melbourne Cup and other key venue events.

While there are administrative responsibilities involved, including responding to enquiries, maintaining bookings and preparing function information, the majority of your time will be spent on the floor — working with customers, co-ordinating staff and making sure events are delivered to a premium standard.

This is a permanent position, with flexibility and availability to work a variety of hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays,



in line with the functions and events calendar.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone who is confident, organised, understands how to deliver great customer service and enjoys being hands-on, in a busy hospitality environment.

You will have:

- Previous experience in hospitality, functions or events, with function/event coordination experience highly desirable

- Strong customer service, communication and organisational skills

- Experience coordinating and supervising staff

- A hands-on approach and willingness to jump in and help wherever needed

- The ability to confidently manage events, customers and staff on the floor

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment

- Good understanding of hotel operations and a team-focused approach

- Strong administration and coordination skills

- A current RSA and driver's licence

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays in line with the functions and events calendar

- The ability to work independently, take ownership and see tasks through from start to finish.
