Signature Staff is seeking an experienced Truck Driver for our client in Townsville.
About the Chance:
Signature Staff is recruiting an experienced Truck Driver on behalf of our client, an established Australian family-owned supplier of building materials.
Based in Townsville, you’ll deliver to customers across the city and surrounding areas. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in safe driving, reliable service and looking after their load.
The position starts on a casual basis, with the opportunity to move into permanent employment for the right person.
The Role:
Your responsibilities will include:
– Delivering customer orders safely, accurately and on time
– Checking goods against run sheets and delivery paperwork
– Loading and unloading building materials safely
– Operating trucks, forklifts and vehicle loading cranes within your qualifications and company procedures
– Securing and handling products to prevent damage
– Providing friendly, professional service to customers and colleagues
– Following workplace health and safety requirements
About You:
You will need:
– At least three years’ truck driving experience and a clean driving record
– A current Medium Rigid (MR) licence
– A current Forklift (LF) licence
– A current Dogging (DG) licence
– Experience operating a vehicle loading crane truck
– The physical capacity to safely handle building materials
– Good attention to detail and a reliable, practical approach
– Clear communication skills and a friendly manner
– Confidence using basic systems and learning new procedures
Knowledge of Townsville and surrounding areas will be highly regarded.
Hours and Pay:
– Full-time hours, 6:30am to 2:30pm
– Casual employment initially, with the opportunity for permanency
– A crane allowance is paid for each day you operate a crane truck
