Position Overview:
Design Group QLD - Design Group specialises in custom commercial joinery and fit-outs for clubs, pubs and gaming venues, creating made-to-order gaming machine bases, privacy screens, bars and other venue fittings. Its team supports projects from design consultation and manufacturing through to installation and aftercare.

As a Carpenter/Joiner at Design Group QLD, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling and installing custom timber and joinery components for commercial hospitality and gaming venues. This position requires precision workmanship, sound technical skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Interpret workshop drawings, site measurements and project specifications to determine dimensions, materials and installation methods for custom commercial joinery.
- Select and prepare timber, plywood, laminates and associated materials, and set out components for gaming machine bases, bar fittings and privacy screens.
- Measure, cut, shape and machine timber and sheet materials using appropriate woodworking tools and equipment to produce accurate joinery components.
- Form and fit timber joints and assemble prepared components into bespoke cabinetry, partitions, counters and other venue fittings.
- Construct and install timber frameworks, panels, trims and supporting structures required for commercial fit-out projects.
- Fit and secure completed joinery,



doors, panels and fixtures on site, checking alignment, levels, dimensions and finished appearance.
- Install and adjust hinges, handles, brackets and other hardware to ensure custom joinery operates correctly and is securely fitted.
- Coordinate with workshop staff, designers and installation teams to complete venue projects according to drawings, deadlines and client requirements.
- Inspect finished work, rectify defects and carry out modifications or repairs to existing commercial joinery as required.
- Maintain safe and orderly workshop and installation areas, handling materials and operating tools in accordance with workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Carpenter/Joiner
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and site measurements.
- Proficiency with carpentry and joinery tools, machinery and installation techniques.
- Solid attention to detail and ability to deliver precise, high-quality finishes.
- Effective teamwork, communication, time management and workplace safety awareness.

Salary:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 - $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
