North Brisbane | 12-Month Contract | Attractive Daily Rate | Extension Potential

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a major Defence organisation supporting complex engineering projects within the Land domain. Based in North Brisbane, this is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension and an attractive daily rate. You'll work alongside experienced multidisciplinary engineering teams on advanced Defence systems and platforms.

The role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will support the design, development, integration and ongoing engineering of complex mechanical systems and equipment.

Key responsibilities may include:

- Mechanical design and development of components, assemblies and systems
- Supporting engineering activities across the full system lifecycle
- Producing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Conducting mechanical analysis, design reviews and technical investigations
- Supporting the integration of mechanical systems into complex Defence platforms
- Working closely with systems, electrical, manufacturing and other engineering disciplines
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues and developing practical engineering solutions
- Supporting verification, validation, testing and technical reviews
- Ensuring designs meet relevant engineering, safety and Defence requirements
- Engaging with internal stakeholders, suppliers and other technical teams

About you





To be successful, you will ideally have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within Defence, automotive, heavy vehicles, transportation, mining, manufacturing or another complex engineering workplace
- Experience with mechanical design, integration and technical documentation
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, mechanical systems and manufacturing processes
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Robust problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
- Previous Defence or Land systems experience would be highly regarded
- Australian Citizenship is essential due to Defence security requirements
