ABOUT THE ROLE

Based in our Wollongong Office and reporting to the Category Manager, you will play a key role in delivering end-to-end category management activities that support operational performance and commercial success. Working closely with operational stakeholders, you will develop sourcing strategies, lead tendering and negotiation activities, analyse supply markets and identify opportunities to optimise Total Cost of Ownership while managing supply risk.

Key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

- Develop short, medium and long-term category sourcing strategies.

- Partner with operational stakeholders to understand supply requirements and business risks.

- Analyse spend data, supplier cost drivers and Total Cost of Ownership opportunities.

- Conduct market assessments and evaluate supplier capability and supply risks.

- Prepare and manage tenders, evaluations and contract negotiations.

- Support contract formation and supplier performance management activities.





- Monitor market intelligence and emerging industry trends.

- Engage stakeholders to obtain approvals and support sourcing initiatives.

- Ensure compliance with governance, procurement and legal requirements.

- Support local and Indigenous procurement initiatives.

- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while supporting business continuity.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

- Experience in commercial, procurement or supply environments.

- Proven strategic sourcing or category management experience.

- Strong contract development and commercial negotiation skills.

- Demonstrated ability to analyse spend, supplier cost structures and commercial opportunities.

- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.

- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

- A collaborative approach and commitment to safety, integrity and commercial excellence.
