Somewhere in the Toowoomba region, a child aged 7–11 needs a safe place to land. Not forever. Just for around nine months. Long enough to help them heal, grow, and find their way home.

This is a full time, paid caring role in your own home. And you won't be doing it alone.

What the Role Looks Like

You'll open your home to one child at a time. School pick-ups. Dinner at the table. A steady routine and someone in their corner.

Behind you is a full team: a therapist, skills coach, teacher and supervisor, all working alongside you, every day.

What You'll Receive

- $6,250 per month tax-free carer allowance ($75,000 pro rata per year)

- Potential eligibility for Family Tax Benefit A and B

- 24/7 on-call support — day, night, weekends

- Daily check-in calls from the TFCA Toowoomba team

- Weekly carer meetings with your supervisor and fellow carers

- Full training before you start, and ongoing coaching throughout

partnered, renting, from any background or community: what matters most is your capacity to show up for a child.

You'll need:

- A spare bedroom

- No children under five at home

- A solid support network around you

- To live in an hour radius of Toowoomba

- Australian Permanent Residency or citizenship

No fostering experience needed. We'll train you for everything.
