Branch Manager - Bathurst

Position: Full-time Permanent Branch Manager, Monday - Friday, located in Bathurst

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a commercially minded and experienced Branch Manager to take ownership of our Bathurst branch. You will be accountable for the overall performance, profitability and operational efficiency of the branch. The role starts as a standalone position with no direct reports, with scope to build and lead a team as the branch grows. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

- Drive sales performance: meet or exceed sales targets through proactive customer engagement and local market initiatives, monitoring results against KPIs and identifying opportunities to grow sales and market share.
- Own the branch P&L;: actively manage stock and operating costs while protecting and growing gross margin, analysing results regularly and taking corrective action where needed.
- Manage stock ordering and inventory: maintain optimal stock levels that support customer demand without excess holding costs, and address slow-moving or excess stock through promotions, returns or adjustments.
- Enforce robust stock control: run regular cycle counts and stocktakes, investigate discrepancies, and minimise shrinkage, damage and losses in line with company policies and audit requirements.
- Coordinate product deliveries: work with all relevant stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely service to customers.
- Provide internal reporting: report accurately and on time on sales,



stock and financial performance to support informed decision-making and future planning.

As the Branch Manager, you will have visibility across all aspects of the business and will be trusted to leverage your experience and expertise to develop and execute plans aligned with our business goals.

What You Need to Succeed:

To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications and attributes:

- Experience in the Masonry, Hardware, Building Supplies or Construction Industries, with a deep understanding of the market dynamics and customer needs.
- Proven experience managing a branch, store or yard with accountability for sales targets and profit and loss results.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance sales growth with disciplined cost and stock control.
- Sound knowledge of stock control and inventory management processes, including stocktakes and discrepancy investigations.
- Leadership capability, with the skills to build, coach and develop a team to high performance as the branch grows.
- Excellent organisational skills, allowing you to effectively prioritise tasks, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Robust customer focus, with the ability to identify and deliver win/win opportunities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling you to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Valid driver's licence to facilitate occasional travel or site visits.
