Aged Care Reviews
Southport
? Responsibilities:
- Translate Business Needs into Delivery: Work directly with Client Services, Provider Growth, Marketing and Finance to turn business problems into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, then make sure they ship.
- Lead the Team: Lead, coach and unblock a team of five across engineering and IT support. Review code, set standards and step into the Laravel and React codebase when needed.
- Own the Product Roadmap: Turn the priorities set by the Executive Director and CEO into delivery, propose trade-offs, and change course quickly when the business needs it.
- AI & Automation: Deliver AI features, integrations and workflow automation that reduce manual effort, as part of our AI Roadmap.
- Keep Things Running: Act as senior escalation for incidents across cloud, networking, Microsoft 365 and contact centre telephony (3CX, SIP, SMS) supporting teams in Australia, Fiji and the Philippines. Own security, suppliers and budgets.
? Company Profile:
Aged Care Decisions is passionate about helping people in need, empowering them in their health care experiences. Our services encompass placement care, service provider matching, cutting-edge technology solutions, and a comprehensive consumer review website. We’ve since launched Care Decisions, bringing the same model to Australians navigating the NDIS.

In December 2022, Aged Care Decisions was backed by growth-focused private equity firm Fortitude Investment Partners (FIP). Since then,
the business has continued to grow rapidly, while ensuring best practice in all areas of the business.
This is not a CTO role. We want a hands-on technical leader who is close to the code, easy to approach, light on process, and happy to change priorities when the business needs it. Someone who makes things simpler, not more complicated, and turns business problems into working solutions that help families find care faster.
You’ll work closely with growth-focused founders and the backing of a private equity firm, executing against our FY27–FY28 growth plan. This role reports to the Executive Director, transitioning to the CEO in the short to medium term, and leads the Product, Engineering and IT team.
? Requirements:
- Business Translation: Proven ability to turn business problems into explicit requirements and user stories, and to explain trade-offs to non-technical people.
- Team Leadership: 3+ years leading a small team of developers and/or IT support, as a tech lead, engineering manager or similar.
- Current Technical Skills: 10+ years in software engineering. Current on PHP/Laravel, React, REST APIs and CI/CD, and credible in a code review. Not someone whose hands-on coding stopped years ago.
- AI & Automation:
Has delivered AI or workflow automation features into production.
- Infrastructure & Security: Practical networking, AWS/Azure, Microsoft 365 and security skills. Comfortable leading incident response.
- Culture: Hands-on, low-ego, accessible and flexible. Prefers shipping to process, reports and frameworks.
- Highly Regarded: Engineering management at a SaaS or scale-up, or leading an in-house dev and IT team at a services business. Legacy modernisation (CodeIgniter), 3CX/telephony, Power BI, offshore teams, and aged care, NDIS or marketplace experience.
?️ Our Tech Stack:
PHP/Laravel, React and legacy CodeIgniter
- REST APIs, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- AWS and Azure
- Docker, CI/CD, Bitbucket
- Jira and Confluence
- Microsoft 365 and Power BI
- 3CX, SIP, SMS
? Relationships:
- Internal: Lead the Product, Engineering and IT team. Work closely with the Executive Director, CEO, Client Services, Provider Growth, Marketing and Finance.
- External: Manage technology suppliers, vendors and security partners.
