Mechanical Fitter Apprentice
Cecil Park, NSW | Full-time Apprenticeship
Ready to build a career where you can make things happen?
Through our partnership with CSR, MEGT is helping create new pathways into engineering and manufacturing, encouraging female participation in traditionally male-dominated trades.
CSR is a leading Australian manufacturing business united by a shared purpose: Building solutions for a better future. Through innovative and sustainable building products, CSR is helping shape the future of the industry.
About the Role
Based at CSR's Cecil Park site, you'll be joining the PGH Bricks & Pavers team, one of Australia's leading manufacturers of clay, dry-pressed and glazed bricks, as well as manufactured stone products used in building projects across the country.
You'll learn how industrial machinery operates, develop mechanical troubleshooting skills and help keep production equipment running safely and efficiently.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of plant and machinery.
- Supporting preventative and planned maintenance programs.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Identifying equipment faults and assisting with corrective repairs.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working alongside experienced fitters and production teams to maintain a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
What We Offer
- A full-time, paid apprenticeship where you earn while you learn.
- Work towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical.
- A supportive, inclusive and respectful workplace where you can feel confident to learn and grow.
- Ongoing mentoring and guidance from experienced tradespeople.
- PPE provided at no cost.
- The opportunity to develop practical skills and build a long-term career in engineering and manufacturing.
About You
You don't need previous trade experience or to know everything about machinery - we're looking for someone who is:
- Curious about how things work and enjoys hands-on tasks.
- Reliable, motivated and keen to learn.
- A team player who enjoys working with others.
- Committed to safety and developing current skills.
- Holds a current driver's licence and is able to travel to the Cecil Park site.
We welcome applications from all candidates. As part of CSR and MEGT's commitment to increasing female participation in trades, women are strongly encouraged to apply.
