We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our technology team within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for the administration, performance, security, availability, and continuous improvement of critical database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver with strong technical expertise across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database technologies. You will work closely with engineers, application owners, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure database services are secure, resilient, and operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer, monitor, and support enterprise database environments including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database.
- Design, implement, and maintain database solutions to meet business and operational requirements.
- Perform database performance tuning, capacity planning, health checks, and optimisation activities.
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
- Implement and maintain database security controls, access management, and compliance requirements.
- Support high availability architectures, replication, clustering, and failover solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex database incidents and proactively investigate root causes to drive resolutions.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams.
- Collaborate with application teams, project delivery leads,



and infrastructure engineers to support business initiatives.
- Contribute to operational improvements, automation, and continuous service enhancement.

Skills required

- Solid experience administering and supporting SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL Database environments.
- Experience in database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.
- Experience with high-availability architectures, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience working with cloud database platforms, including Azure and AWS RDS.
- Strong SQL development skills, including query optimisation and stored procedures.
