Tanunda Bakery is seeking a passionate and creative Bakery Assistant and Cake Decorator to join our team on a part-time basis . This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic bakery environment in Tanunda, SA 5352 , where you will contribute to creating delicious baked goods and beautifully decorated cakes that delight our customers. You will play an integral role in maintaining our high standards of quality and presentation whilst supporting our experienced baking team.
What you'll be doing
Assisting with the preparation and production of a variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, and other bakery items
Decorating cakes and pastries with precision, creativity and attention to detail, ensuring all finished products meet our quality standards
Preparing cake batters, fillings and icings according to established recipes and specifications
Maintaining a clean, hygienic and organised workstation in compliance with food safety regulations
Packaging and presenting finished products attractively for retail display
Assisting with stock rotation and monitoring ingredient levels
Supporting the wider bakery team with general duties as required
Providing excellent customer service when interacting with customers at the point of sale
What we're looking for
Previous experience working in a bakery, kitchen or hospitality environment is highly desirable
Demonstrated cake decorating skills or formal training in pastry arts or bakery
A strong eye for detail, creativity and artistic flair with the ability to follow designs and instructions precisely
Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, or willingness to obtain relevant certifications
Reliability, punctuality and a positive, team-oriented approach to working within a team
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
Flexibility with scheduling to accommodate part-time hours, including potential weekend or early morning shifts
