We are looking foran experienced Maintenance Person/ Handyman who will work as part of our small, friendly team andbe responsible for the day to day maintenance of the resort. Reporting to the GM, this role will suit someone who is very hands on. The resort is located at the southern end of Surfers Paradise.

The successful candidate will have strong initiative, the ability to work under pressure, good presentation and a commitment to providing great guest service. Experience in a grounds/maintenance position in a busy hospitality environment ispreferred, but not essential.

The position requires working in both guest and staff areas, so the ability to relate to people from all walks is essential.

Duties & responsibilities

- To provide management with assistance in maintaining the apartments, facilities and grounds, including assisting with the refurbishment of units and furniture removal/installation.
- Assisting guests where required.
- Ensuring the overall appearance and presentation of the resort grounds, apartments and gardens are to the highest possible standard,



as well as ongoing lawn maintenance.
- Ensuring that the daily cleaning duties are performed to the highest possible standard.
- Train and support other maintenance staff and common area cleaners when required.
- Complete all scheduled maintenance tasks in a skilled and timely manner.
- Ability to maintain records is essential.
- Pool treatment/maintenance experience is highly regarded but not essential.
- Some cleaning of hotelareas such car park, fountains and surrounding areaswill be required.
- Paint work and patching in rooms, as and whenrequired.
- The ability to coordinate contractors.
- Ability to order and maintain stock.
- Willingness to cover cleaning shifts when required.

This role is initially a casual position (generally set days of the week). The position includes early mornings, a weekend day and public holidays where applicable. This is an award rate position under the Hospitality Industry General Award.
