Payroll Officer | Immediate Start | Temporary Contract | Gold Coast

Our client is a respected Gold Coast business with a strong local presence and a collaborative finance team. They're looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join them on a contract, starting immediately. This is a role for a payroll qualified who doesn't just process, but understands why the numbers are what they are.

You'll look after a mid-sized fortnightly payroll covering both salaried staff and employees under an enterprise agreement. Processing is handled by an external provider, so your focus is on making sure everything going in and coming back out is right. You'll check and approve the payroll data, interpret entitlements, and spot and fix issues before they reach anyone's pay.

What you'll be doing

- Reviewing and approving fortnightly payroll data
- Interpreting award and enterprise agreement conditions, including allowances, penalties and shift entitlements




- Being the go-to person for payroll queries from employees across the business
- Assisting with super, payroll tax and end-of-period requirements
- Identifying process improvements and helping shape how payroll runs going forward
