- Complex Navigation: Navigate the customer’s and Salesforce’s internal organizational dynamics to achieve results. Drive consensus with collaborators and influence key internal and external stakeholders to engage in the process.
- Business Insight: Combine expert Salesforce knowledge with deep business insight to deliver effective recommendations and advance the customer’s core business goals. This includes adapting established solutions to solve complex customer problems.

Job Description
Why this role matters
ZOE is expanding beyond the UK and US, and Australia is a priority market.
We are the world's leading gut health science company, best known for our science-backed app, the world's #1 nutrition podcast, and breakthrough clinical research published in top journals like The Lancet and Nature. We already see some organic demand for ZOE in Australia. We need a senior, hands-on operator on the ground to turn that momentum into a live, market-leading presence and sustainable revenue growth.
This is a 0-to-1 build role, not a maintenance position, nor one about managing agencies from a distance. You will be ZOE's senior marketing and communications lead in Australia, standing up our commercial growth plan, brand narrative, partnerships and media presence, with structure, pace and a good understanding of the Australian consumer.
About the role
As our Marketing and Communications Lead in Australia, you will own our market entry end to end (roughly 75% of your time) while collaborating on global brand and science moments (roughly 25%).
- Senior hands-on IC: A senior individual contributor role for someone with roughly 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. Seniority here means craft, autonomy and commercial judgement, not people management. You build, execute and own work-streams yourself, with no direct reports.
- Commercial and comms hybrid: You lead local go-to-market growth, partnerships and PR, and you are the person on the ground who briefs and works with our central UK and US Performance, Creative, Lifecycle and Finance teams.
- Reporting and matrix: You report to the GM of International Growth, with the Head of Global Communications as your key PR partner. You work independently in Australia, plugged into a supportive UK and US team across Science, Performance, Creative and Lifecycle.
- Working across time zones: Australia is 9 to 11 hours ahead of London and further ahead of the US. You are comfortable working async by default, with a few early-morning or evening calls each week to stay connected.
The team
You'll join a supportive, senior global team spanning Growth, Performance, Lifecycle, PR, Corporate Communications, Brand, Science and Product. You'll operate independently on the ground in Australia, backed by a world-class team in the UK and US that provides a steady pipeline of clinical research, spokesperson access and proven playbooks to adapt for your market.
What you’ll do
1. Own the Australian market entry (~75%)
Commercial growth and partnerships
- Act as the commercial strategist on the ground. Partner with Finance and brief central Lifecycle, Performance and Product teams to test local growth levers, including pricing, email programs and local acquisition campaigns.
- Build and run local partnership and offline activation plans: meet partners, health professionals (such as Accredited Practising Dietitians), creators, wellness brands, retailes and industry stakeholders face to face to drive awareness and revenue.
- Own local commercial targets and measure impact through hard metrics (brand search volume, web traffic, sign-ups and conversion).
PR and brand localisation
- Adapt ZOE's science-led story for Australian consumers: credible, plain-spoken and evidence-backed, never hype or recycled UK copy. Australians are quick to spot over-claiming in a crowded wellness market.
- Stand up and run the Australian press office end to end: build media lists, write and pitch stories yourself, cold-outreach journalists and producers, secure national coverage across print, online, breakfast TV, radio and podcasts, and run product seeding and media events.
- Personally deliver local PR and communications work. Brief and oversee freelancers or local agencies (design, events, creator management) only when you need execution at scale.
2. Global integration and cross-market support (~25%)
- Global science moments: Adapt company-wide science publications, product launches and brand campaigns for Australia, often turning UK news into Australian stories overnight thanks to the time difference.
- Cross-market playbooks: Share Australian market insights, test results and PR playbooks with the UK and US teams, and bring their best ideas back.
- Executive and spokesperson support: Draft briefing documents, opinion pieces, press releases and Q&As;, and support ZOE spokespeople, including local experts, for Australian media and events.
? Who you are
- Commercial brand builder: 5 to 10 years launching or scaling a consumer brand in Australia, ideally in health, wellness, nutrition, food, science or consumer tech. You lead with business outcomes such as revenue, brand search, traffic and sign-ups.
- Startup operator who wears many hats: You've worked in a startup, scale-up or new-market launch where you did the work yourself, not through a team or agency roster. You're energised by ambiguity and happy to be strategist, writer, pitcher and partnership lead in the same week.
- Hands-on pitcher: A proven track record of personally pitching stories and landing national Australian coverage. You know what makes producers and journalists say yes, and you're comfortable cold-calling and following up.
- Self-starter across time zones: High autonomy and structured self-management. You're happy working without a local team and keeping a UK and US team aligned through clear written updates and async work.
- Clear writer: Native-level English, with a sharp ear for Australian tone. You can turn complex science into credible, engaging copy that Australians trust.
Nice to have
- Existing relationships with Australian health, lifestyle and national news journalists and producers (for example ABC, Nine's Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, News Corp, Australian Financial Review, Guardian Australia, breakfast TV and top podcasts).
- Working knowledge of Australian health marketing rules, such as FSANZ health and nutrition claims, the TGA advertising rules, Australian Consumer Law, the Privacy Act and the Spam Act.
- Experience with New Zealand or wider APAC markets.
- Experience in a remote, matrix organisation working across UK and US time zones.
What success looks like
- By month 1: A signed-off Australian market-entry plan, commercial growth tests scoped with Finance and Performance. Early ideas of partnerships to pursue and first contacts established.
- By month 3: A growing network of national media contacts, and first local partnership leads. Live campaigns to help calibrate performance and strategy.
- By month 6: Live PR, growth and partnership campaigns in Australia, early national media coverage, measurable brand search growth, and a draft playbook for further APAC expansion.
- By month 12: A self-sustaining, repeatable Australian growth and PR playbook driving revenue and brand authority, reviewed at C-suite level.
What we offer
- Position type: Permanent, full-time employment through our Employer of Record (Deel) under Australian employment law, including the National Employment Standards.
- Pay: Competitive base salary plus superannuation, and equity so you become an owner in ZOE's growth.
- Remote-first: Work from home anywhere in Australia , with quarterly team off-sites in London and an annual company retreat in the UK or Europe.
Every ZOEntist gets the same core benefits wherever they're based, topped up with local ones. A snapshot:
- Health and wellbeing: health cover, mental health and fertility support, life insurance, a wellness budget, and the ZOE app and Daily30+ for you and a +1.
- ️ Life events: enhanced parental leave, ZOE Reset Days and a paid Life Event Day every year.
- Community: an annual company retreat, quarterly meet-ups and a monthly social budget.
- Growth: a yearly growth budget, support for professional qualifications and a work-from-home budget.
