About The Role

Pyramid Global Technologies is seeking a Backend Developer – Java to design, develop, integrate, and maintain backend services that support network products and operational processes. You will translate customer, partner, employee, and regulatory needs into reusable APIs, microservices, data models, workflows, and integrations. Working closely with product owners, technical product owners, frontend developers, and peer-system teams, you will help shape end-to-end solutions and agree on API specifications that support effective user experiences.

This position combines software engineering with cloud and on-premises deployment, CI/CD, and operational responsibilities. You will contribute throughout the delivery lifecycle, from planning and estimation to implementation, release, and ongoing improvement. Working in an Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps environment, you will help ensure that solutions meet security and operational requirements while remaining maintainable, scalable, and aligned with evolving technology needs.

Qualifications A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates will typically bring five to ten years of experience in software engineering, operational engineering, or a closely related role,



with demonstrated expertise in software delivery and deployment practices.

Strong hands-on experience with Java is required;

experience with JavaScript is also valuable. You should have a solid understanding of software engineering principles, version management, API design, and system integration. Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, including improving automation and delivery workflows while maintaining quality, is significant. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, cloud and on-premises technologies, configuration management, and deployment automation is highly desirable.

Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating with DevOps practitioners is expected. Exposure to network automation, Software Defined Networking, or Network Functions Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVi) concepts is an advantage. Success in this role also calls for strong written and verbal communication, analytical problem-solving, effective time management, and the ability to work constructively with technical and business stakeholders.

You are proactive, self-motivated, open to learning new technologies, and interested in developing deep expertise in the domain.

Responsibilities

Design, build, install, integrate, and maintain Java backend microservices and related software that implement product logic for fixed network provisioning and operations. Convert business, customer, partner, employee, and regulatory requirements into reusable APIs, data models, workflows, and dependable integrations.



Coordinate with frontend and peer-system teams to define API specifications and deliver complete processes.

Collaborate with product owners and technical product owners on business and technology roadmaps. Participate in Agile ceremonies and lead or contribute to planning, solution design, and estimation sessions. Use established code repositories and CI/CD pipelines to deliver software across development and production environments. Support deployment and hosting across cloud and on-premises platforms.

Apply security, reliability, and operational requirements throughout design and implementation. Evaluate third-party, open-source, and internal libraries, tools, APIs, and platforms against business needs, considering their suitability and software supply-chain implications. Develop platform-specific capabilities that respond to current requirements and take advantage of emerging technologies.

Contribute to DevOps and DevSecOps practices, improve delivery pipelines, and promote continuous learning and engineering quality.
